BLACKWATEREVENTS.COM has gone bye-bye.

In April of 2008 we launched something unique for the Franklin/Southampton County region. A single website where everyone could come together, post events and discuss local issues - absolutely free - without any advertisements or sponsors. We approached local government and civic orgnaizations asking not for money but simply that they use the site to post events and help spread the word. Sadly, very few people got on board and without participation our little project slowly died off. We left the site up hoping that people might eventually come around and decide to take advantage of it, but alas this never came to be.

So today we're shutting down. We want to thank everyone who continued to post on the site and who supported us after we launched. While our project didn't gain the kind of support it needed, we hope that someone else will try to do something similar and find partners where we found none.
